Archiving and Preservation Policy
The Journal of Computing and AI (JCAI) is committed to the long-term accessibility and preservation of its published scholarly content. As an international journal focused on AI and computing, we recognize the importance of maintaining permanent access to research, regardless of future operational or technical changes.
Redundant Storage and Backup Systems
To ensure uninterrupted access and preservation, JCAI employs multiple layers of digital redundancy:
-
Multi-Server Storage: All electronic content—including website data, published articles, and supplementary files—is hosted on multiple geographically separated servers.
-
Remote Continuous Backup: We utilize continuous data protection (CDP) solutions, such as R1Soft, to maintain secure and up-to-date off-site backups.
-
Rapid Recovery Protocols: In the event of a server outage, our systems are designed to restore full functionality within 24–36 hours.
Indexing and Third-Party Archiving
JCAI articles are registered with reputable abstracting and indexing services, which often retain metadata and may archive full-text content. These services serve as independent access points, ensuring discoverability and backup access beyond the journal’s primary hosting environment.
Long-Term Digital Preservation Plan
To further strengthen the sustainability of our digital content, JCAI is actively exploring partnerships with certified long-term archiving solutions, such as:
-
CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
-
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
-
PubMed Central (PMC), where applicable
Details regarding finalized archiving partners will be updated in this section once implementation is complete.
JCAI remains dedicated to maintaining the integrity, availability, and long-term preservation of all published research in AI, computing, and intelligent systems.
